An authentic Indian cuisine business is coming to the big city.
The Indian concept Nimit Palace is coming to Mercer Street in the city sometime this year. Right now, the team is operating their New Jersey location in Voorhees Township. An official opening date from the family is to be determined.
Nimit Palace has been around since 2010, serving up traditional Indian cuisine for the township at 104 White Horse Road. It is owned by Jersey local Ashu Singh, and his father Ranjeet Singh is the main chef. The location offers dine-in and takeout, and also caters for events like weddings, parties and community events.
“We not only cater to patrons who want to sample the traditional, authentic cuisine of India, but also to customers who are new to Indian food and are open to trying a more subtle version of the typical, India’s popular international dishes,” says the description on their website.
Their “signature creations” section includes chicken tikka marsala, paneer tikka dry and Afgani chicken. The team also serves vegetarian options, as well as appetizers like papri chaat, or crispy fried flour crackers, and puffed puri with potatoes. Rice and biryani specials are also available.
While an exact address hasn’t been released, it will be somewhere along the major Mercer Street. This goes into Greenwich Village, NoHo and SoHo. More information on the new Manhattan location will be released by the family in the coming weeks.
