LaScala’s Fire to Open New Restaurant at The Village at Newtown

LaScala’s Fire is preparing to open a new location at The Village at Newtown in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, after the restaurant’s plans were approved by the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on September 23, according to 94.5 PST.

The restaurant, part of the LaScala Restaurant Group, will take over the space currently occupied by Ardana Food and Drink at the shopping center on South Eagle Road.

Ardana Food and Drink is expected to close its Newtown location on October 10, following approximately three and a half years in the community. The Christou family, which owns Ardana, announced the closure on social media, describing the decision as a bittersweet move to “pass the torch” at the Newtown location.

The space is expected to transition quickly, with LaScala’s Fire scheduled to open on October 17, just one week after Ardana closes.

As part of the transition, Ardana Food and Drink employees were reportedly offered employment with LaScala’s Fire.

LaScala’s Fire describes its concept as “classic Italian American, reimagined,” offering a menu centered on Italian-American cuisine. The restaurant’s offerings include pizzas, pastas, salads, sandwiches, entrees and other Italian-American dishes, along with cocktails and other beverages.

The Newtown location will join LaScala’s Fire’s existing locations in Marlton, Glassboro, Atlantic City, Northeast Philadelphia, Center City Philadelphia, Newtown Square and West Chester. The concept also operates at the Diamond Club at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, and is preparing to open another location at MarketFair on Route 1 in West Windsor.

LaScala’s Fire is part of the broader LaScala Restaurant Group, which operates several restaurant concepts throughout the region. Its portfolio includes Beach House in Brigantine, Birra in Pennsauken, Lorenzo Pizza & Steaks in Marlton and The Chicken or the Egg in Marlton.

The upcoming Newtown location will bring LaScala’s Fire’s Italian-American menu to The Village at Newtown while continuing the restaurant group’s expansion across the region.

LaScala’s Fire is currently scheduled to open at the former Ardana Food and Drink space on October 17.
