Cult-Favorite Burger Concept Expands with New Brooklyn Opening

Gotham Burger Social Club has opened its second location in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood on September 23. It started as a social club for friends and burger lovers before expanding through pop-ups across New York. The restaurant brings the brand’s menu to the neighborhood, expanding its presence.

Gotham Burger Social Club was founded by Mike Puma. It started as a social club for friends and burger lovers, which later grew into a popular concept with pop-ups across New York. Puma eventually opened the brand’s first permanent restaurant on the Lower East Side.

The brand has since expanded from its original pop-ups to permanent locations in New York. The restaurant also received national and international recognition. It was ranked No. 80 on the World’s 101 Best Burgers list and was named among Food Network’s Top 10 Burgers in the Country.

The new Williamsburg location covers 1,500 square feet and has a similar design to the Lower East Side restaurant. Its interior combines mid-century modern and Western-inspired elements, with walnut paneling, brass details, and leather seating.

The space also pays tribute to Oklahoma, where the restaurant draws inspiration for its fried onion burger. The space includes nostalgic Americana details and references to Southern and country icons such as Dolly Parton. It can seat 57 guests, including 10 at the bar.

Gotham Burger Social Club’s Williamsburg location is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday until midnight.

What’s on the Menu

The food menu at Gotham Burger Social Club in Williamsburg remains focused on nostalgic comfort food. The signature Gotham Smash is inspired by the Oklahoma fried onion burger. Fresh beef is smashed onto the griddle with onions, creating a crisp crust as the onions cook into the patty.

The burger comes with American cheese, Club sauce, housemade pickles, jalapeños, ketchup, and mustard on a toasted Martin’s potato roll. Other items include the California Dreamin’, Love Me Tenders, Cowboy Caviar, Chopped Cheese Taco, Gotham Dog, Loaded Tots, and Veg’n-Out Smash.

Guests can also order fries, onion rings, and Frickles, along with housemade sauces such as Club Sauce and Ghost Pepper Ranch. The restaurant also offers weekly specials like the Dixi Chick, which is a crispy chicken sandwich available Mondays and Tuesdays. Wings with Buffalo and Yellowstone Gold Hot Sauce are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The Williamsburg restaurant introduces Gotham Burger Social Club’s first full bar and cocktail program. Guests can pair their burgers with cocktails, wine, or local beer.

Cocktails cost around $15 and include classics such as the Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and Dark ‘N’ Stormy. The menu also includes signature drinks like The Puma, a spicy margarita made with fresh jalapeño and topped with ginger beer.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the bar also serves the Gotham Bloody, made with the restaurant’s house-made Bloody Mary mix. Beer options include selections from New York and Brooklyn breweries such as Threes Brewing, KCBC, Talea Beer, Grimm, Flagship, and Brooklyn Brewery.
