An ice cream company is entering a new chapter this year.
Affogato’s Ice Cream & Coffee is getting ready to move into their new building at 6655 Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale. This is just under a half-mile from the current location. Team members at the shop told What Now Detroit they are hoping to open in a few weeks.
Those stopping in Affogato’s are usually looking for a scoop of ice cream, cup of coffee or a quick baked good. Ice cream options are flurries, hand-dipped, ice cream nachos, shakes and malts. 21 flavors are available for choosing.
For the new Affogato’s it will feature a coffee drive-thru, outdoor patio and a rooftop patio. It is being built from the ground up, and is over a year in the making.
This new location is at the intersection of Avery Avenue, across from the Allendale Township Fire Station. Other restaurants nearby include Mr. Burger, Sprinkles Donut Shop and Allendale Grill, next to the current Affogato’s space. From pictures, the interior of the building is nearly finished.
