A new spot for a cup of coffee or breakfast sandwich while watching your cats is coming to Woodridge.
The newest cafe cafe, Luxe Purr Lounge, is planned for Woodridge next year off Interstate 355. Owner Alina Sziler, who managed a pet parlor in the area, has been working on the concept for a few years. Sziler told What Now Chicago she is hoping to debut the spot in February.
“Luxe Purr Lounge is an upscale cat lounge concept where exceptional handcrafted beverages, delicious food offerings, and the companionship of adoptable cats come together in a thoughtfully designed space. Our vision is to create a destination that inspires relaxation, connection, and a lasting impact on cats in need,” says the description on their website.
Sziler wanted to create a more upscale version of a cat cafe. During the planning process, she reached out to owners of other cat cafes in the area and gained valuable perspective. The space is 5,000 square feet, and it will have the capacity for 25-30 felines.
The menu has been partially released on their website, which includes, lattes, matchas and espressos mostly themed to cats. This includes a “Black Cat Matcha” with velvety chocolate and whipped cream. For food, sandwiches like paninis and shareables will be served.
While the exact address is not being disclosed, Sziler said it is being built right off Interstate 355. This area is home to The Promenade Bolingbrook. As it gets closer to the opening date, Sziler will be releasing more information on the company’s Facebook page.
