Lids plans to open a second location at Fashion Valley in November, according to the center’s announcement. The new store will sit near Cafe Terrace and will carry the retailer’s assortment of licensed headwear, team apparel, and fan-focused accessories.

Founded in 1995, Lids describes itself as the world’s largest retailer specializing in officially licensed and branded headwear. Its assortment spans college teams as well as MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL clubs, alongside specialty fashion categories featuring the latest styles and colors.

The new shop, listed as “Coming Soon” will join the Lids location already operating at the center, listed at 7007 Friars Road, Suite 791, according to the retailer’s store locator.

What Now San Diego reached out to Lids representatives to ask for more details but did not receive a response prior to press time.

Fashion Valley opened in 1969 and spans more than 1.7 million square feet of retail space. The center is owned by Simon Property Group and anchored by Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Macy’s.

What Now San Diego has tracked the center’s recent tenant additions. This outlet previously reported on SKIMS‘ first San Diego County store, located on the second level next to Anthropologie.

What Now San Diego also covered the arrival of Rowan, the nurse-led ear-piercing studio, where founder and CEO Louisa Schneider said the brand is targeting further San Diego openings.
