A new chocolate shop is in the works just in time for the upcoming holidays.
Switzerland-based Läderach continues to expand in the U.S., with a new location planned for 535 N Michigan Avenue in River North. This will be the company’s third store in the Chicago area, and the second in city limits. From signage out front, the store is opening later this fall.
The chocolate company operates across the world, with over 260 locations in more than 30 countries. The other two stores in Chicagoland are at Fashion Outlets of Chicago and another in Skokie. This will be their first location that is not at a mall.
Läderach has become popular for gifting, with options including truffles, chocolate tablets and snacks like pretzels and choco flakes. At stores, all kinds of sweets can be found, with many kinds of chocolate bark available and on display. Some locations also serve drinks like chocolate milk.
The storefront is near the intersection of E Grand Avenue, next to Labriola Ristorante. Other retailers at the building include Men’s Warehouse, Allen Edmonds and Pandora Jewelry. This is close to The Shops at North Bridge mall.
Right now, the Läderach team has not announced a grand opening date for the Magnificent Mile location.
