Memphis-area diners, get ready to open your hearts and prepare your stomachs for a new home for arguably the most universally beloved Mexican food. A restaurant called Taco Spot has filed papers to open a location in Cordova, bringing residents a fresh way to revitalize their taco Tuesdays, any day of the week.

Taco Spot has a certificate of occupancy application filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for 1770 N Germantown Parkway. The form provides little information about the new concept, save that it will, indeed, be a “Taco Shop / Mexican Restaurant” and will span 1,400 square feet.

Taco Spot does not yet have a digital footprint to shed any further light on its cuisine or atmosphere. The certificate of occupancy is listed as “in review” as of October 19 and a sign permit application has been submitted as of today, October 20. While these details do not provide a definitive opening timeline, they do demonstrate forward momentum that suggests Taco Spot may be ready for guests in the not-too-distant future.
