Vicksburg favorite Rusty’s Riverfront Grill is getting ready to launch a new chapter. The beloved restaurant, helmed by the Larsen family, is headed to Oxford with plans to open next spring, reports Vicksburg News.
Operating under the name “Rusty’s Oxford”, the new location will be opening as part of The Belle Commons retail development. The beloved Vicksburg eatery shared the news about its upcoming second home via social media post. The October 5 announcement was simple but direct, saying: “Something Exciting Coming Very Soon!” above an image emblazoned with the words “Rusty’s Oxford Mississippi”.
The post garnered a great deal of enthusiasm among the community as well as some minor concerns which ownership was quick to abate, assuring existing Vicksburg customers that the Oxford location is part of an expansion, not a relocation.
Owner Rusty Larsen kindly provided What Now Memphis with this peak at what Rusty’s Oxford has in store: “Located at The Belle Commons in the Oxford Commons community, right off frontage road, Rusty’s Oxford will bring the same great food and hospitality that guests have come to love at our Vicksburg location. Our menu will feature many of the same favorites, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood and coastal-inspired dishes. We’re bringing a taste of the Mississippi Gulf Coast to Oxford!”
Rusty’s Oxford does not yet have a set opening date, however the Larsens anticipate being customer-ready by April of next year.
With a diverse menu featuring everything from pasta to seafood, Rusty’s is certain to be embraced by Oxford foodies. The website explains the key to the concept’s success, saying it “has built a strong reputation for its seafood, steak, and Cajun-inspired dishes.” The Larsens are bringing a great deal of enthusiasm to the project, alongside the signature fare-Rusty states: “We look forward to becoming part of the Oxford community and can’t wait to welcome you to Rusty’s Oxford!”
