Tierra Encantada is just a few weeks out from opening its Kirkwood location at 1655 Memorial Dr. SE, marking Mike Campagnolo’s first franchise location with the brand. Next year, Campagnolo will open his second location at 3811 South Cobb Dr. in Smyrna. Campagnolo told What Now Atlanta targeting a summer 2027 opening in Smyrna.

Campagnolo is building on about 20 years of work in franchising. He previously owned Planet Fitness franchises, starting with one location in 2008 and scaling that to more than 100 locations over 18 years.

“I wanted to get into a new venture, and got interested in childhood education and this brand, with the Spanish immersion component,” Campagnolo said. “I decided to go into the Atlanta market to open up the first few stores.”

Tierra Encantada offers a childhood education center and daycare with Spanish language immersion, a play-oriented curriculum and scratch-made meals with organic ingredients, according to the Tierra Encantada website. The brand has a strong presence in the Minneapolis area and has been expanding to different areas across the country, including Texas, Ohio and Virginia.

Campagnolo hopes to open 10 locations in the Atlanta area over the next five years.

“Having kids at that early age being exposed to a second language full time during the day is an integral part of their early childhood development,” Campagnolo said.
