Stars Bar & Grill in Federal Way has changed hands and is now operating as The Groove Bar & Grill at 31216 Pacific Highway S., Suite A. A liquor license application filed with the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board lists the business’s new name.

The transition follows Teena Nelson’s retirement. In a September 26 post on the Stars Facebook page, Nelson reflected on 36 years serving the neighborhood and announced plans to hand over the business on October 1.

Her farewell thanked customers and staff for their support over the years and encouraged regulars to extend the same welcome to the incoming owners.

The Groove has since begun promoting events under its new name. Its Facebook page advertises an October 31 Halloween party with karaoke and a costume contest, followed by a November 4 darts tournament. Free-entry poker is also part of the programming.

Details about the food menu and any changes to the space had not been announced at the time of publication. What Now Seattle reached out to The Groove, and this article may be updated as more information becomes available.

In the meantime, follow The Groove on Facebook for programming updates.
