Chef and restaurateur Renee Erickson is bringing a new restaurant concept from Sea Creatures to The Eight, at 10770 NE Eighth Street in Bellevue, according to Puget Sound Business Journal.

The 6,000-square-foot restaurant is expected to open in summer 2027, marking the group’s first location outside Seattle. A name and menu details have not been announced.

Erickson purchased her first restaurant, Boat Street Café, in 1998. In 2016, she won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northwest for her work at The Whale Wins. Today, she owns Sea Creatures with Jeremy Price, Chad Dale, and Ira Gerlich.

The group’s portfolio includes Jeffry’s Restaurant & Bar, Willmott’s Ghost, The Walrus and the Carpenter, Barnacle, Deep Dive, Westward, Lioness, General Porpoise, Lowlander Brewing, Mio Oh Mio, and Un Po Tipsy.

Sea Creatures will join Sabine, which opened in July, and Chipotle, which is expected to open later this year. The restaurant’s lease fills the last of the building’s approximately 11,000 square feet of retail space.

Visit the Sea Creatures website for announcements about the Bellevue restaurant.
