Slime Co., the build-your-own slime bar that has become a go-to destination for families in Maryland and Virginia, is opening its first Arizona location at Chandler Fashion Center this November. The store, located upstairs near Scheels, marks the brand’s first expansion to the Southwest. A grand opening celebration is being planned for December, with details to be announced. A second Valley location at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale is slated to open later this year, with more to come.
At Slime Co., guests don’t just buy slime – they make it. Visitors walk up to the slime bar, pick a base, and customize their creation with more than 50 scents, a spectrum of colors and over 100 toppings, from glitter to charms and crunchy add-ins. Each guest names and labels their one-of-a-kind slime before taking it home. Every slime is handmade, non-toxic and skin-safe, scented with essential oils or premium soap fragrance, and many textures are non-sticky and mess-free. The experience is designed for ages three and older, with sensory benefits that include stress relief, fine motor skill development and screen-free focus.
Founder Christina Mahe began making slime with her son, Logan, after noticing he would spend hours playing with it. Their house soon became known among friends and family as “the slime house,” and Mahe built Slime Co. to share that hands-on, screen-free play with more families.
“As an Arizona native, opening our first Slime Co. location in Chandler is truly a full-circle moment,” says Mahe, founder and owner of Slime Co in a statement. “What began as a fun sensory activity with our son has grown into a brand that’s bringing creativity, connection, and hands-on experiences to families across the country. We’re thrilled to bring Slime Co. home to Arizona and become part of the Chandler community.”
Beyond walk-in visits, the Chandler store is built for celebrations. Slime Co.’s private parties are all-inclusive and mess-free, with a reserved party table, a dedicated host, one custom slime per guest, full slime bar access, a special slime for the guest of honor and complete clean-up handled by the Slime Co. team. Packages accommodate small birthday groups as well as larger gatherings of 22 to 25 guests, with whole-store buyouts available for big events. The format also lends itself to school groups, scout troops, team outings and corporate or community events.
Slime Co. Chandler will be open regular mall hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Gift cards are available online, and parties can be booked at shopslimeco.com. For updates on the grand opening, follow @shopslimeco on Instagram.
