Terry Black’s Barbecue is preparing to bring its Central Texas barbecue to San Antonio, with the Austin-based restaurant chain set to open its first Alamo City location near the Pearl District.
The new restaurant will open at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at 2102 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78215. The 6,450-square-foot restaurant will accommodate approximately 200 guests and is expected to employ 120 people, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
The restaurant will serve the brand’s signature barbecue menu, including slow-smoked brisket and pork ribs, alongside traditional sides such as potato salad and macaroni and cheese. Guests can also expect desserts, including banana pudding and peach cobbler.
In addition to dine-in service, the San Antonio location will offer catering, Uber Eats delivery, and OpenTable reservations, with those services available on opening day. Customers can also book a behind-the-scenes barbecue experience, including a private tour of the pits, an opportunity to meet the pitmasters, and a meal at a reserved table. Siblings Michael, Mark, and Christina Black founded
Terry Black’s Barbecue in Austin in 2014. The family grew up in Lockhart, Texas, widely recognized for its barbecue heritage, where they learned the craft from their father, Terry Black. The siblings established the restaurant to carry forward their family’s barbecue traditions while developing their own approach to Central Texas-style barbecue.
The San Antonio restaurant will mark the brand’s eighth location. Its expansion across Texas has included restaurants in Austin, Dallas, Lockhart, Waco, Fort Worth, Houston, and New Braunfels, which opened in September 2026. The company is also planning an out-of-state location in Nashville, Tennessee.
The San Antonio opening is part of a larger development planned by Black Family Hospitality, the hospitality and lifestyle group founded by the Black siblings. The Broadway property is also expected to include The Mandevilla, a 40-room boutique hotel, and The Depths, a planned bathhouse and wellness concept. These projects are separate parts of the broader development and are not included in the November 17 restaurant opening.
The San Antonio location will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
