Famous across America for its legendary Butterburgers and frozen custard, Culver’s has expanded to comprise more than a thousand restaurants, and its growth is continuing in the Florida market. A new Culver’s is in the works in Lehigh Acres with an expected opening before the end of the year, Jeffrey Liegel, CEO of S&L Companies, the developer behind more than 130 Culver’s locations, told What Now on Friday.
“Southwest Florida has been great to us,” said Liegel. “The brand has been very well received, and we just want to keep building it out.”
Culver’s Butterburgers come in varieties like the Bacon Deluxe, “with layers of real Wisconsin cheese and crisp bacon,” and the Culver’s Deluxe, with Wisconsin cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and Culver’s signature mayo. Or, if you’re feeling chicken, there are chicken sandwiches and tenders—plus seafood sandwiches and dinners like the Butterfly Jumbo Shrimp Dinner.
Then, of course, there’s Culver’s Frozen Custard, which you can order as a sundae like the Banana Split or the Turtle Sundae; as a shake, in flavors like Chocolate Malt, Peanut Butter, and Salted Caramel; and as one of Culver’s famous Concrete Mixers.
Opening at 5670 Thoroughbred Dr., Culver’s will be situated across the street from businesses like Advance Auto Parts, Havana Bakery and Cafe, and Cuscatlan Restaurant.
“As locally owned and operated restaurants, Culver’s has earned its reputation for deliciousness by serving the freshest ingredients to guests, with unmatched hometown hospitality,” says the Culver’s Facebook page. “Fresh, never frozen burgers are always cooked to order, and premium, better-than-ice-cream, fresh frozen custard is made in small batches throughout the day, every day. Welcome to delicious!”
