“Coming November 22!” says a post by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. “Welcome to Lakeland Street Market, a vibrant market nestled within the heart of Lakeland Town Center, offering a unique shopping and dining experience for the entire community. Our market blends the charm of a traditional street market with the convenience and variety of a modern retail destination.”

Among the restaurants opening in the Lakeland Street Market is Ocala-based barbecue brand Four Smokes BBQ, the barbecue restaurant “Where Real Smoke Meets Real Southern Hospitality.”

The Four Smokes menu features proteins like brisket, St. Louis-style ribs, chicken, sausage, and pulled pork. A great choice for two is the Tour of Four Smokes, “A hearty sampling of all five of our slow-smoked meats. Served with 4 of your favorite sides and bread choice (cornbread or Texas toast).”

Sides include Mac N Cheese, Buttered Corn, Waffle Fries, Collard Greens, Candied Yams, and more.

The new Four Smokes BBQ would open at 995 E Memorial Blvd #110, Suite 7, according to submitted documents.

Meanwhile, a post in the “We Live in Lakeland & I Have Questions” Facebook group announced the Four Smokes location at the end of September: “Four Smokes BBQ coming soon!”

“Four Smokes was born the way the best Southern stories always are – around family, fire, and recipes whispered from one generation to the next,” says the Four Smokes BBQ website. “What started as a humble BBQ food truck, fueled by long nights, hard work, and a whole lot of love, slowly became something bigger. Smoke rolled in, word spread fast, and before long, that little truck turned into a dream worth chasing… Every recipe we serve is family-made and family-tested – slow-smoked, scratch-crafted, and cooked the only way we know how: with patience, pride, and respect for tradition. From our fall-off-the-bone ribs to our famous mac & cheese, every bite carries a piece of where we came from.”

What Now was unable to reach a representative of Four Smokes on Monday to confirm whether the Lakeland Street Market location represents an expansion or a relocation for the barbecue restaurant.
