What Now reported in March 2026 on the debut of Swig, the beverage franchise known for the Original Dirty Soda, in the Tampa Bay market, with two locations in Lutz and another planned (and now open) in Wesley Chapel.
Now, the brand is preparing to expand its footprint in the area once again, with a new location in the works at 2290 Gulf to Bay Blvd. in Clearwater, where Swig will take over a former Wendy’s, according to coverage by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Home of the Original Dirty Soda, Swig offers a wide range of drink choices, with Signature Sips ranging from Sour Patch Kids Blue Raspberry to dirty sodas like the Texas Tab (Dr. Pepper + Vanilla + Coconut Cream), The Founder (Diet Coke + SF Coconut + Fresh Lime + Coconut Cream), and the Shark Attack (Sprite + Lemonade + Blue Raspberry + Gummy Shark).
“Swig, Home of the Original Dirty Soda®, is one of the fastest-growing and most successful beverage-focused brands in the country,” says the brand’s LinkedIn page. “Founded in 2010, Swig formally introduced the concept of the ‘dirty soda’ to customers, who quickly embraced the brand’s unique drink mixes, blending classic sodas with bold flavors, fresh fruits, purees, and creams. In addition to their trademark dirty sodas, Swig also offers water-based drinks called Refreshers, customizable energy drinks called Revivers, and sweet and savory snack options. Swig has expanded to over 125 locations in 16 states, becoming thousands of people’s go-to destination for refreshing drinks.”
