UPDATE (Sept. 22, 2017): First Atlanta Duck Donuts To Open Oct. 7.

Plans to open a Duck Donuts in Buckhead’s Tuxedo Festival shopping center are moving forward.

The franchised location, owned by Andre Walters, would be the first Georgia outpost of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania-based customizable donut concept.

Walters this week filed a building permit application with City of Atlanta to buildout suite 180 at 3655 Roswell Road, a 1,326-square-foot space in the shopping center, for the forthcoming location.

Transforming the Buckhead space into Duck Donuts will require a new floor plan layout with new walls and doorways, according to the official city filing.

Walters, who “owns the Atlanta market” for the dessert franchise, is also opening a location in Alpharetta later this year.

Duck Donuts Franchising Company LLC has 95 donut shops signed, 25 open, and 70 are projected to open in the next two years.

Tuxedo Festival is anchored by Savi Provisions, and is home to Flip Burger Boutique and Zoe’s Kitchen, among other restaurant and retail options.
