Nashville-based Hattie B’s is moving forward with plans to open its first Atlanta restaurant.

The chicken joint this week filed a permit application with City of Atlanta to renovate a laundromat, at 299 Moreland Avenue, into the forthcoming Hattie B’s.

An estimated $250,000 could be spent renovating the 2,729-square-foot Candler Park space, according to the official document.

Susan “Lola” Conway, director of human resources and hospitality for Hattie B’s, in an email Thursday told What Now Atlanta the restaurant could open early-2018, more than a year after the restaurant was first announced.

“The opening date is all dependent on getting the required permitting through the City of Atlanta,” Conway said.

“We’ve been told the City is pretty backed up. I don’t anticipate the Atlanta location opening any earlier than the beginning of 2018 but we’ll keep you posted through our social media channels as we get closer.”
