The team behind Tuk Tuk Thai Loft has soft-opened their upscale Thai concept Chai Yo in Buckhead.
Mike O’Kelly, the chief operating officer of parent company The Tamarind Restaurant Group, first shared the news with What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Thursday.
During the soft opening, Chai Yo is accepting limited dinner reservations Monday through Saturday. Reservations can be made by contacting 404-464-7980 or emailing the maître d’.
The “modern Thai” restaurant will celebrate its grand opening February 1, O’Kelly said.
WNA in February 2017 first broke the news that Chai Yo would open in the Two Buckhead Plaza office complex near Himitsu and Umi under the direction of owner DeeDee Niyomkul.
Menu items include dishes like Khao Soi Lobster (Lobster tail wrapped with crispy egg noodles, pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, rice noodles, in yellow curry and boiled egg), and Sakoo Sai Gai (Tapioca Dumpling with pickled turnip, peanuts, ground chicken, palm sugar filling topped with cilantro and fried garlic.)

“Our bar program is headed by award-winning bartender Timothy Faulkner (formerly with Restaurant Eugene, Umi, Lusca, 8Arm, Octopus Bar, H&F Bottle Shop),” O’Kelly said.
“He has crafted specialty cocktails using Thai-influenced ingredients including butterfly pea flower, lychee, lemongrass and kaffir lime.”
The restaurant can seat 90 guests. The Chef’s Table will accommodate 10.
