Gucci is expanding its Phipps Plaza footprint.

Plans last week and earlier this month were filed with the City of Atlanta for the Italian luxury brand of fashion and leather goods to renovate its existing 5,515-square-foot Buckhead store, and to take over two neighboring spaces.

Gucci will expand into the Hublot and Micheal Kors spaces, according to the plans.

Hublot, a Swiss watch brand, and Michael Kors, an accessories and sportswear retailer, shuttered mid-week and over the weekend, respectively.

The renovation and expansion project will happen in three phases, costing nearly $1,150,000 in total.

First, the Hublot and Michael Kors spaces will be demoed for an estimated $45,561.

The second and third phases, expected to cost $1.1 million, will include the expansion of Gucci into the adjacent retailers, and the buildout of the three combined spaces into one new store.

It’s unclear what the total square footage will be for the retailer following the renovation and expansion.

At least one of the adjacent spaces will add 1,303 square feet, according to a demolition permit filed for the project.

Representatives for Simon Properties, Phipps Plaza’s owner, ignored several requests by What Now Atlanta for comment.
