UPDATE (July 7, 2019): Details Surface For Planned Silverspot Cinema in The Battery Atlanta Including 2020 Timeline

Boutique theatre concept Silverspot Cinema has inked a deal to bring its first-to-market location to The Battery Atlanta, according to a press release this week from the Braves Development Company (BDC).

Silverspot Cinema will operate multiple screens as well as a full bar and in-theatre dining at the mixed-use development in a 38,000-square-foot space.

“Silverspot Cinema is one of the most innovative and creative entertainment organizations we have encountered, focusing on an exceptional theater experience for their customers, with a high-touch, customer-first environment which makes them the perfect fit for The Battery Atlanta,” Mike Plant, president and CEO of BDC, said in the release.

“As The Battery Atlanta continues to grow and establish itself as the place to go for food, shopping, entertainment, and fun, we know the huge impact they will have on our guests.”

In addition to films, the theatre will house other events and programs like the MET Opera Series, Broadway plays, and musicals, concerts and Flashback Cinema—classic films on the big screen.

The new theatre, at 945 Battery Avenue SE, will be situated on Cobb Parkway near the new Comcast Xfinity store.

Silverspot Cinema has locations in Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Several other boutique theatres and first-to-market cinematic concepts are planned for the Atlanta-area.

Colony Square earlier this year announced plans to open a 426-seat iPic Theatre and Regal Atlantic Station is getting the market’s first 4DX Theatre late-2018.

Studio Movie Grill premiered its new Marietta location late-2017 and Midtown’s Landmark Cinemas could any day begin a $2.5 MM overhaul.
