UPDATE (September 17, 2018): McAlister’s Deli Opens Prototype Restaurant In West Midtown Center

McAlister’s Deli this week broke ground on its West Midtown Center location, according to a press release Thursday.

Situated at 1299 Northside Drive in the development more commonly known as Northside & 17th, the forthcoming McAlister’s Deli will the first in Atlanta and will be a new prototype and “test location” for the restaurant chain.

“Based on more than a year’s worth of guest insights and research, the West Midtown McAlister’s will be the fast-casual brand’s first restaurant to feature new design elements focused on guest convenience, accessibility and touchpoints that evoke the importance of community,” according to the press release.

“Set to open this fall, this prototype is the first research-led design evolution with a specific focus on the guest experience since the brand opened its doors in 1989. Not only will a new look, feel and dining experience be unveiled but, as a test restaurant, Atlanta residents will play a role in the brand’s future as guests will be tapped to provide feedback on the experience and new potential menu items.”

The 3,100-square-foot restaurant will be built by Integra in the Fuqua-developed mixed-use project, employing approximately 80 team members.

“This new prototype is an exciting and long-awaited step for McAlister’s,” Joe Guith, president of McAlister’s, said in the release.

“We’re proudly headquartered in Atlanta and handpicked West Midtown for our new prototype because of the vibrancy and diversity of the community. We’ve spent a lot of time and research finessing the experience we provide our guests and hope the community is looking forward to the new McAlister’s as much as we are.”

McAlister’s, which has more than 410 restaurants, including locations in Roswell, Lawrenceville, and Kennesaw, is a fast-casual restaurant chain known for its sandwiches, spuds, soups, salads, desserts and sweet tea.

  • I LOVE this place BUT I did want to leave a comment… the broccoli I got as a side today had WAY TOO MUCH pepper on it! I couldn’t even eat it. I work in Atlantic station at Northpointe Bank mortgage and I would come here every single day if I could 🙂 There is extra pepper if you want more but there is absolutely no reason to put THAT much pepper on it that I can barely eat it. One love!
