Botiwalla next week will officially open in Alpharetta City Center.

Tuesday, May 28 will be the restaurant’s first day in business, a Botiwalla spokesperson in an email Thursday told What Now Atlanta.

During the grand opening week through Sunday, June 2, the restaurant will host gift card and swag giveaways.

The Alpharetta Botiwalla (pronounced boat-e-walla), at 24 S Main Street, is the second location for the brand joining the flagship in Ponce City Market.

Botiwalla is described as a “modern version of an Irani cafe, historically a safe haven for outsiders, a place where all are welcome.”

It is owned by Meherwan Irani, the restauranteur behind Decatur’s Chai Pani.

“Meherwan’s hometown of Ahmednagar, India, his grandfather owned the first and only Irani Cafe in the town, Sarosh Canteen, so Boti is a place close to Meherwan’s heart, an homage to his roots,” the spokesperson said.

The restaurant’s mission is “to make the most delicious version of Indian street food—the country’s only pan-Indian cuisine encompassing the traditions and ingredients of more than a billion people.”

Expect a mix of “Chai Pani’s greatest chaat hits along with the grilled meats Irani cafes are known for,” plus boozy slushies, afternoon high tea, and retail including Meherwan’s own Spicewalla spices.

Botiwalla Alpharetta flanks the one-acre Town Green at the heart of Alpharetta City Center.

It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday through Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to10:00 p.m.
