The warehouse at 60 W Mayflower Ave will soon be home to North 5th Brewing Company, a new brewery from sibling entrepreneurs Amanda and Matthew Payan, according to recent coverage in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The duo comes out of a family business, a mitigation company called Elite Restoration, which worked in construction and restoration, and which owned the warehouse. The Payans decided to redirect their business efforts, and a brewery was born in that location.

Beer ran in the family, like business—both of which Amanda and Matthew inherited from their father, thanks to whom the two entrepreneurs gained experience with beer-sampling “beercations” and a history of home brewing.

Still, North 5th has brought in experienced brewing professionals. Patrick Tofte, who previously worked with Banger Brewing, came on as head brewer, and—in another family-business move—Tofte’s brother Sam Tofte came aboard as assistant brewer.

The location at 60 W Mayflower Ave is in an industrial zone between Commerce St and Brookspark Dr, where the brewery will become the first of its kind in North Las Vegas. The 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse space will have a 730 sq. ft. taproom, with a woody industrial feel, where North 5th will offer 15 of its own brews on tap, in addition to five other local craft offerings.

What Now Las Vegas was unable to reach Amanda and Mathew Payan for comment.
