Star Restaurant, Bar, and Hookah Lounge, a new Ethiopian restaurant and hookah bar, will open soon in Spring Valley. The restaurant recently filed paperwork with Clark County to open at 6370 W Flamingo Rd.

Owner Sanye Boranto confirmed the news on the phone with What Now Las Vegas on Thursday morning. Boranto said the restaurant plans to open with beer, hookah, and a small selection of Ethiopian plates: the familiar injera along with dishes like BBQ beef and rice.

“There’s not a lot of food for now,” Boranto said, adding that the menu will be streamlined at first, with 4 or 5 dishes, to be expanded later.

The location is part of Phoenix Plaza, a retail center on Flamingo Rd between El Camino Rd and S Torrey Pines Dr. The building at 6370 Flamingo is home to local businesses like Las Vegas Taekwondo Studio, as well as restaurants like Noosh Bakery, Jo’s Malasadas Café and Bakery, and Pizza Hut.

Further details about the restaurant’s branding and operating hours are unavailable for the moment. No opening date has been announced.
