In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.
Now that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp’s “shelter-in-place” order has expired, businesses that were temporarily closed per being deemed “non-essential” in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, are starting to reopen.
Simon Property Group, the owner of Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, last week announced it would reopen the Buckhead malls to support its tenants.
Management at each mall on Monday told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation that the online directories are being updated throughout the day and don’t necessarily reflect the most up-to-date info.
It’s also worth noting that each retailer has its own set of safety standards in place. For example Boss at Phipps Plaza is requiring its customers to wear personal protective equipment, which it will provide, and Saint Laurent is limiting shoppers to one per associate and recommends making an appointment.
Here’s a list of tenants that have reopened as of Monday, May 4 at 11 a.m.
