The Escape Game Reopens In The Battery Atlanta, Adjusts Operations For Social Distancing, Sanitation

In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.

The Escape Game, an escape room facility in The Battery Atlanta, has reopened for business, and with doing so, has completely overhauled its operations in an effort to keep employees and customers safe amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

“We love our guests and our team and want to do anything and everything we can to protect them and create the safest environment possible,” Teddy Cheek, marketing director at The Escape Game, said in a prepared statement Thursday.

“We’re excited to continue providing epic interactive experiences for every single guest and our new definition of epic includes extra measures to sanitize, clean, and socially distance.”

Some of the changes to The Escape Game’s operations include adding time between games to sterilize the space between each and every group, only allowing one team in the lobby at a time, social distancing and face masks for employees, and “misting” all of the escape rooms with disinfectant, and keeping each experience private versus shared so people will only be in a team with those they booked the game with.

Mario Zelaya, the CEO of Bad Axe Throwing, earlier this week said his company was also making measured operational changes to help guests feel safe after a “failed” reopening and advised other businesses to do the same.
