Uptown Atlanta’s dining lineup has become even more vibrant. The new Latin Coastal restaurant, Madre Selva, has opened its doors to customers at the mixed-use destination. The eclectic and chef-driven restaurant will feature Atlanta’s first ceviche bar and an elevated menu that celebrates South American dishes.

Madre Selva is the newest addition to the globally inspired restaurant lineup at Uptown Atlanta, which is being redeveloped by Rubenstein Partners, L.P. Juan Segura and Francisco Puerta are the entrepreneurs behind the restaurant concept.

Madre Selva to Honor Peruvian Cuisine

“Coastal elegance. Peruvian roots. Bold Latin flavors.” is what Madre Selva offers at the core of Uptown’s Main Street. The restaurant promises its guests an unforgettable dining experience that captures the essence of Peru’s rise to the global culinary scene.

Speaking about their new restaurant, the founders said, ‘We’ve already received an incredible response from the community during our soft opening, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome guests into the full Madre Selva experience.’ They added, ‘Atlanta has embraced us with open arms, and we can’t wait for the many unforgettable moments that will unfold here.

It was the vision of the founders to create a space where people can gather, celebrate, and connect. Madre Selva features two patios that can seat up to 70 guests. The design of the space has the essence of Mother Jungle meeting modern cuisine, creating a refined sanctuary.

Madre Selva centers around the exuberance of Latin coastal flavors and handcrafted cocktails, led by Executive Chef Carlos Enriquez from Lima, Peru. The chef brings in the experience of having worked in some of the top restaurants in Miami. 

Blending tradition and innovation, the chef honors Peruvian cuisine with high-quality ingredients and meticulous techniques to serve the flavors in their authenticity. He incorporates his expertise in ancestral cooking methods and has been influenced by the bold flavors of Nikkei and the Latin Coast.

Chef Enriquez has curated the menu at Madre Selva to pay homage to the rich culinary heritage of his native country. The menu features Latin American dishes like Lomo saltado, Parmigiano Conchitas, Classic Peruvian Ceviche, and Nikkei stir fry. The dishes include fresh seafood that is cooked with Indigenous ingredients using contemporary methods.

Renowned Peruvian bartender and consultant Alex Holender brings his extensive experience and knowledge of pisco, a grape-based spirit popular in Peru distilled from freshly fermented grape juice to Madre Selva.

Trying Out Madre Selva

Since its recent opening, Madre Selva has been offering dinner service. Reservations can be made online.

According to the official announcement, lunch and brunch services will be added soon. The new restaurant will be worth checking out not only for all the residents that live nearby, but also for Uptown’s office community.

Uptown Atlanta Being Reimagined

Rubenstein has undertaken the redevelopment of Uptown Atlanta. So far the 35,000-square-foot office atrium has been modernized and the building facades have been elevated. A truly pedestrian-friendly Main Street has been created and The Lawn has been transformed into a highly programmed community gathering space.

Uptown recently had the openings of El Gordo – an authentic taqueria, Bene Korean – Upscale Korean barbecue, and J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen – a Street food and brunch restaurant. White Windmill, a popular Korean bakery will be opening soon as well. 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar and Chow À La Carte at Uptown Test Kitchen were already a part of it.

Retail and other Businesses in Uptown include Roundhouse Kickboxing – a Dynamic fitness studio, The Commodore – a Retro Barbershop, and Fly on a Wall – an Atlanta-based arts platform and studio. It will also have Sugarcoat, a neighborhood nail and beauty salon opening soon.

Spanning 47 acres, Uptown consists of 120,000 square feet of street-level retail, green space, and art and one million square feet of Class A office space. Anchored by the Lindbergh MARTA Station, it offers accessibility to the city’s major pedestrian trails like the Atlanta BeltLine, PATH400, and the South Fork Trail.
