A new board game cafe is on the way to Commerce. Bagels & Board Games will open at 1728 N. Broad St. in Commerce, owner John Kalina told What Now Atlanta.
The spot, which Kalina and his team hope to open in September, will serve bagels, bagel sandwiches, cream cheeses and coffee. While it will sell a few board games, the cafe is designed for people to play games together on site. Customers will be able to pay a table fee to have open access to the board game library. Options will include various board games as well as trading card games like Magic the Gathering and Pokemon.
Kalina hopes to open Bagels & Board Games from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on most days of the week. Eventually, Kalina envisions expanding the brand to have private rooms to rent and escape rooms for people to enjoy.
The team settled on Commerce because Kalina views it as an up-and-coming area, but they hope to grow beyond Commerce and expand to additional locations.
“The long-term vision is definitely opening a second or third store someday, maybe in other states,” Kalina said. “We want to build a place for everyone who loves board games.”
