An Atlanta-based food-service company is launching its first original concept, and those with a sweet tooth will be excited.
Cinnabon Swirl, a new creation from GoTo Foods, is planning to open its first locations this year, with the first Georgia location expected to be in Kennesaw, according to an announcement.
Cinnabon Swirl will make its grand debut in Hillsboro, Oregon, in May 2025. More than 30 locations are in the pipeline, with the Kennesaw one planned for this year, in addition to locations in Peoria, Arizona, and Pasadena, California.
The concept is a mash-up of cinnamon bun brand Cinnabon and ice cream company Carvel, two brands owned by GoTo Foods. It will feature classic menu items from Cinnabon and Carvel, as well as signature items that are exclusive to Cinnabon Swirl, including ice cream sandwiches, sundaes and the “Bonini,” a classic Cinnabon cinnamon roll with Carvel vanilla soft serve warm-pressed like a panini.
Expect some rotating flavors too. The flagship store in Hillsboro, Oregon, will feature two limited-edition soft serve flavors each month, the first two being Birthday Cake and Cold Brew.
“Consumers are increasingly seeking new and unique irresistible desserts, and Cinnabon Swirl was conceptualized to meet this evolving demand,” Cinnabon Executive Chef Jennifer Holwill said in a statement.
GoTo Foods, formerly known as Focus Brands, is based in Atlanta. Other brands in the GoTo Foods portfolio include Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Schlotzsky’s.
