A local family-run Mexican restaurant is cooking up a new location.

Taco Madre Mexican Grill is planned for Braselton at 6323 Grand Hickory Dr, according to a building permit application with Gwinnett County.

This would be the second location of Taco Madre, which first opened in Oakwood in 2021. The menu includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, nachos, street corn and more. The concept comes from Ramon and Mayra Carrillo.

Ramon Carrillo told What Now Atlanta they are targeting an April 2025 opening for the new Braselton location. The menu will be slightly different, with more of a “dine-in experience,” he said.

The Oakwood restaurant will remain open.
