Great fortune is headed to Chinese food lovers in Lawrenceville, with a new Panda Express proposed for the city.

The fast-casual restaurant is planned for a site at the corner of Braves Avenue and Buford Drive, across from Coolray Field. The 2,530-square-foot restaurant would seat about 37 people, according to construction plans.

The first Panda Express opened in 1983 in Glendale, California, and now has more than 2,500 locations worldwide. The menu includes Chinese-American dishes like orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, broccoli beef, kung pao chicken and more alongside sides like rice, chow mein and vegetables.

There are currently 72 Panda Express locations in Georgia, including three existing ones in Lawrenceville.
