The popular Central Texas ice cream brand Amy’s Ice Creams will soon be opening a deep southwest Austin location in the Belterra area, according to a recent filing with the State of Texas.

The store will be located at 12400 Highway 290, within suite 450, just off the highway—a key location for the chain’s expansion. The new location will be moving into a strip full of notable fast casual brands such as Torchy’s Tacos, Mighty Fine Burgers, and P Terry’s.

Amy’s specializes in handcrafted ice creams, ice cream cakes, dairy-free fruit ices and frozen yogurt, offering over 350 flavors such as Mexican Vanilla, Caramel Popcorn, White Coffee, and Mango Ginger Cayenne.

What Now Austin reached out to CEO Alan Hixon to inquire about potential opening dates along with other pertinent information about the Round Rock store and other upcoming locations, but he was not immediately available for comment.

While official statements regarding this location are non-existent, public records show that construction is anticipated for a September beginning and a November conclusion, making it likely for the Belterra Amy’s to be up and running in Q4 2023.

Founded in Austin in 1984, Amy’s has since then expanded significantly throughout the Austin area and into two other major Texas markets—San Antonio and Houston.
