Firehouse Subs is heading to Killeen. According to public filings, the sandwich chain plans to occupy a space at 4300 Clear Creek Rd., Suite 140, inside 1st Calvary Plaza, with construction work set to wrap by December 2026.
What Now Austin reached out to franchisee Thomas Densmore to inquire about an opening timeline, but did not receive an answer by press time.
The chain is known for its hot, steamed subs, including the Hook & Ladder and the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket, along with salads, sides and its build-your-own sub option. Firehouse Subs also supports first responders through its Public Safety Foundation.
According to Franchising.com Densmore opened his first Firehouse Subs in Wichita Falls in 2017, followed by a second location with a drive-thru in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 2020. He has since expanded his footprint across North and Central Texas, with locations built out in Stephenville and Temple. Killeen would mark his latest addition to that growing portfolio.
The Killeen location adds to a steady wave of Firehouse Subs expansion across Texas that What Now has tracked in recent months. What Now Dallas reported on a new Celina location planned for the Preston Road and Ownsby Parkway corridor, while What Now San Antonio covered a multi-unit franchise deal expected to bring more than 130 restaurants across the region. What Now Houston has also followed the brand’s growth with new locations in Cypress, Richmond and Missouri City.
Texas is currently home to nearly 135 Firehouse Subs locations, making it the state with the second-highest count nationwide.
