According to public filings, the national sandwich chain could be making its way to one of North Texas’s fastest-growing cities. Firehouse Subs plans to open a new location at the southwest corner of Preston Road and Ownsby Parkway in Celina, with construction slated to begin in September and wrap by the end of November 2026.
Firehouse Subs specializes in hot, hearty submarine sandwiches made with premium meats and melted cheeses, steamed to order and served on a toasted sub roll. The menu features a range of signature options alongside salads, sides, and a lineup of soft drinks and lemonade. The chain also offers catering and online ordering.
The 1,350-square-foot space would bring the brand’s signature toasted subs and fire station-themed dining experience to the booming Collin County suburb. What Now Dallas reached out to Firehouse Subs representatives for comment but did not receive a response by press time.
Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, in 2001 by former firefighters Chris and Robin Sorensen, Firehouse Subs has grown to more than 1,200 locations across the United States. The chain is known for its hot subs and commitment to public safety. Firehouse Subs has also donated more than $75 million in life-saving equipment to first responders nationwide through its Public Safety Foundation.
Celina’s rapid residential growth has made it an increasingly attractive market for national brands. The Preston Road and Ownsby Parkway corridor is quickly becoming one of Celina’s most active commercial nodes. The Home Depot, a Lowe’s, and a Costco are all slated to open in the same area, positioning the intersection as a major retail and dining destination for residents across the region.
