According to recent public records, South Florida’s Half Moon Empanadas is soon to build up its debut central Texas store at the Austin Airport.
Costing an estimated $730,000, construction will consist of “tenant improvement of an existing food and beverage establishment will encompass architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work for the service area, including new millwork pieces, service line equipment, finishes, and menu boards.” It is set to wrap up in October 2024.
Founded by Pilar Guzman Zavala and Juan Zavala in Miami, Half Moon Empanadas prides itself on crafting its empanadas from scratch with the finest ingredients. The brand serves signature flavors including guava & cheese, three cheese, beef, spicy beef, chicken, and spicy chicken empanadas.
Half Moon Empanadas is currently operating over 20 stores as it expands across the nation. Many of them are in airports: Miami, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Chicago O’Hare, Phoenix Sky Harbor, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Austin-Bergstrom, Raleigh-Durham, and Rhode Island.
