According to a recent interview with owner Jesse Herman in The Austin Business Journal, Koko’s Bavarian will be relocating soon.

“He and his partners are in the process of breaking new professional ground by introducing the Koko’s Bavarian biergarten brand to concession stands within stadiums across the country,” the report states.

“An East Austin location closed last year and is in the process of being relocated, Herman said.”

The news comes after a monthslong hiatus for the biergarten whose website has long stated that “Koko’s will be suspending service at 4715 East 5th Street for the summer for maintenance and renovations.”

The menu and concept of the popular biergarten can be best summed up by Koko’s itself: “German Texan Brewery and Beer Garden Beer Hall Biergarten with Full Bar and Menu Featuring German Specialties Brats Sausages Pretzels and Belgian Fries.”

What Now Austin briefly reached Mr. Herman who said he had no updates on the ABJ story.

No timeline or addresses for the reopening have yet been announced.
