La Volta Pizza Club is expanding its Austin presence with a second location planned for East Austin, where the restaurant hopes to build on the community-focused atmosphere that has defined its original location. According to public filings, the new restaurant is planned for 1141 Shady Ln.
What Now Austin reached out to owner Isak Kurbasik, who said the project is targeting a spring 2027 opening, pending permits and construction timelines.
La Volta Pizza Club is an intimate Italian-American, pizza-forward restaurant and social spot offering wood-fired and New York-inspired pizza. The restaurant is known for its cozy, red-hued ambiance designed to create an effortlessly cool, romantic atmosphere.
According to Kurbasik, La Volta has long wanted to establish a presence on Austin’s East Side, which he described as an area with a strong community and significant opportunity.
“There’s just a fantastic community out here, and we want to be able to service them,” he told What Now Austin.
The new location will also build on what Kurbasik sees as one of the defining qualities of La Volta’s original restaurant: making guests feel at home. For the second location, the team wants to expand that idea beyond a traditional sit-down dining experience.
The restaurant hopes to create a place where people can visit during the day or later at night to spend time, feel comfortable, and connect with the surrounding community.
“A lot of the things that people love about La Volta, one is it feels very much like a home. We want to even expand on that vision a little bit and really make it a place where the community can come,” Kurbasik told What Now Austin.
La Volta Pizza Club opened its original location in 2023. Asked why he believes the concept has been well received, Kurbasik pointed to the restaurant’s straightforward approach, from its ingredients to its service and team.
“We truly believe that simplicity is the key ingredient to facilitating an amazing experience,” he said.
The East Austin opening is not the company’s only expansion being considered. Kurbasik said La Volta is already in discussions about expanding to Houston and would also like to eventually open in Dallas or the Fort Worth area.
“We just love Texas,” he said. “So anywhere we can go, we’re open to it.”
For now, the focus remains on bringing La Volta Pizza Club to East Austin and creating a space that extends the restaurant’s existing community-oriented identity to a new neighborhood.
