According to local franchisee Dan McGrath, popular Arkansas-based chicken franchise Slim Chickens is expanding its Texas footprint, mulling a potential new outpost in San Marcos.

“As an Austin resident I’m extremely excited to introduce Slim Chickens to the Austin and San Antonio markets over the upcoming years,” Mr. McGrath recently told What Now Austin. “With three restaurants under our belt we are accelerating growth plans in 2025 and working towards our 20 restaurant development agreement with Slim Chickens.”

“With our tender, sandwich and wing lineup accompanied by our 14 dipping sauces we believe Slim Chickens will be a strong contender in the great state of Texas. We welcome you to share a meal with us, our team looks forward to providing you with a memorable Southern Hospitality experience you won’t regret!”

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Slim Chickens offers a brief introduction on its website: “Our mission was (and is) simple: to make the best hand-breaded chicken tenders using only the freshest ingredients, served in a friendly atmosphere where people can relax and feel at home.”

In addition to chicken tenders, the Slim Chickens menu boasts chicken sandwiches, wraps, salads, and sides including macaroni and cheese, fries, and potato salad.
