Pivotal Academy of Dance is planning to relocate within Buda. According to public filings, the new building is planned at 187 Carpenter Hill Drive, with construction expected to begin in September and wrap by early 2027. Owner Jade Greenough told What Now the move is still in its early stages, with the site currently undeveloped land.
Greenough said proximity was the deciding factor behind the new location. “We actually are about a minute down the road already, so I basically chose it for proximity of my current building. It kept my people within about a minute drive of my studio now,” she told What Now Austin.
This marks Pivotal’s 11th year in Buda, where Greenough, who was born and raised in South Austin, said the studio has grown from a single room to three. “We’ve expanded here from one room to three rooms, and we are just now where we need to go ahead and expand again,” she said. “We decided to take the leap and build out probably our forever home.”
Greenough credits the studio’s growth to its family-oriented approach, which blends recreational and competitive dancers into the same classes rather than splitting them apart. “We’ve really created more of a family bond than a commercial, competition-like feel to the studio,” she said. Pivotal serves dancers starting at age 2 all the way up to adults.
With that being said, Pivotal Academy of Dance has no plans to open additional locations. “I’m happy with what I’ve built. We will stay just in one location,” Greenbourg said, adding that the new space is meant to serve the studio “for the next twenty years.”
As for the community she’s served for over a decade, Greenough said the expansion is about giving back. “We’re just excited to be able to relocate and offer more space, to offer more classes, and to invite more families and dancers into our culture and our studio,” she said.
