A Swampscott açaí shop is bringing a taste of Brazil to two new neighborhoods.
BoostBerry Açaí & Smoothies is expanding with upcoming locations at 21 Drydock Avenue in Boston’s Seaport District and 99 Mount Auburn Street in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, confirmed co-founder and operator Bárbara Brussolo.
The Seaport location is set to open on August 4, 2026, inside a custom-designed BoostBerry container positioned directly in front of the Reebok gym at the Innovation & Design Building. Meanwhile, the Harvard Square outpost is currently in development and is expected to open later this year.
“Our growth has been fueled by the support of our customers and our commitment to quality, consistency, and great service,” said Brussolo. “The demand for healthier, fresher, and more authentic food options continues to grow, and we believe BoostBerry fits perfectly into communities like Boston and Cambridge.”
Founded with the goal of introducing a more authentic Brazilian açaí experience to American customers, BoostBerry was created in response to what the team saw as a gap in the U.S. market. According to Brussolo, many products marketed as “açaí” are blended with multiple fruits, sweeteners, syrups, and other additives—ingredients she believes can take away from the natural flavor and character of the Brazilian superfruit.
“Our goal has always been to bring a more authentic Brazilian açaí experience to our customers, using high-quality ingredients and staying true to the essence of açaí,” Brussolo explained.
To achieve that mission, BoostBerry imports its açaí directly from Brazil and makes its base with just three ingredients, allowing the fruit’s natural flavor, texture, and quality to shine. Customers can personalize their bowls and smoothies with a variety of toppings, from nut butters, granola, and coconut flakes to fruits, proteins, and sweeteners.
Beyond its signature açaí bowls and smoothies, BoostBerry is developing a lineup of functional smoothies featuring ingredients like collagen, creatine, and guaraná, designed for customers seeking options focused on wellness, energy, and performance.
As it expands throughout Greater Boston, BoostBerry hopes to become a go-to destination for authentic açaí, smoothies, and healthy food made with high-quality ingredients and care.
“Opening these new locations is a very special milestone for BoostBerry,” said Brussolo. “We’re excited to expand into Boston and Harvard Square and continue sharing our passion for healthy, flavorful food with new communities.”
