A beloved South Shore sweet shop is bringing its signature Swedish treats to Boston.

Maria Stolt, owner of Nantasket Sweets By Swedes, recently announced plans to open a second location at 115 Charles St in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. The original Hull shop, located just steps from Nantasket Beach, has amassed a devoted following with its imported Swedish candy and handcrafted confections.

“From the seaside charm of Hull to the historic streets of Beacon Hill, this next chapter feels incredibly special to us,” reads the announcement. “Charles Street is known for its beautiful brick sidewalks, cozy cafés, boutique shopping, and timeless Boston character — and we could not imagine a more perfect place to bring our Swedish candy experience.”

Originally from Sweden, Stolt moved to the United States in 2019 and opened Nantasket Sweets on Christmas Eve in 2020. Inspired by memories of Lördagsgodis—the Swedish tradition of enjoying candy on Saturdays—the shop became known for its vibrant “lösgodis” pick-and-mix wall filled with imported gummies, licorice, chocolates, and other nostalgic sweets from Sweden.

Beyond the candy selection, Nantasket Sweets offers housemade Belgian chocolate fudge, sea salt caramels, pralines, ice cream, and seasonal specialties.

The Beacon Hill location will feature the same playful assortment Hull customers have come to love, including sweet and sour gummies, foamy candies, Scandinavian licorice, handcrafted chocolates, curated gift boxes, and surprise seasonal creations.

“For us, this is more than opening another candy store. It’s a dream that has grown from years in hospitality, a love for customer experience, and a passion for sharing the flavors and traditions we grew up with in Sweden,” the announcement continues. “We are so grateful for all the support from our customers, community, friends, and family who helped make this possible. Every visit, every kind word, and every bag of candy purchased has helped us grow into this exciting new adventure.”

Currently undergoing renovations, Nantasket Sweets By Swedes is being designed as a warm, whimsical space centered around nostalgia, discovery, and joy for both children and adults. Stolt told What Now Boston that the Beacon Hill shop is slated to open in July 2026, pending renovations and final approvals.

Until then, excited locals can follow @nantasketsweets on social media for sneak peeks and grand opening updates.
