An Italian market known for its organic produce, artisanal breads, and imported goods is expanding to North Andover.

Tewksbury-based The Market Al Fresca recently announced plans to open its second location at 554 Turnpike Street in The Crossroads Retail Center. Construction is already underway, though an official opening date has not yet been announced.

“Some of you may already know our big news… but guess what?! The Market Al Fresca is opening a SECOND LOCATION!” the team shared on social media. “Construction has officially begun, and we could not be more excited to bring The Market Al Fresca to North Andover! ❤️ We can’t wait to bring all of your Market favorites, and so much more to our new community. 😊 North Andover… we’re coming for you! 🥳

The Market Al Fresca grew out of the neighboring Al Fresca Ristorante, which husband-and-wife team Mark and Erika Angluin opened in 2012. The couple first met while working at a local Italian restaurant more than 25 years ago, and six years after opening their restaurant, they teamed up with Erika’s brother, Anthony Parasole, to launch The Market Al Fresca. Today, Mark, Erika, and Anthony co-own The Market.

At its original Tewksbury location, The Market Al Fresca offers a variety of Italian-inspired prepared meals and specialty grocery items, including fresh pasta, breads and cheeses, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, imported ingredients, and grab-and-go dishes. The market also features vegan and gluten-free options, along with a Sweet Shoppe offering gelato, homemade baked goods, cannoli, and other treats.

Details about what North Andover shoppers can expect from the new location have not yet been announced. Parasole told What Now Boston that more information will be shared closer to opening day, including further details about the new market. In the meantime, be sure to follow @themarketalfresca on Instagram to browse The Market’s offerings.
