Ross Dress for Less is continuing its Massachusetts expansion, with a new store planned for Wareham following several other recently announced Bay State locations.

According to a recent report from The Connecticut Scoop, the discount retailer has leased approximately 20,300 square feet at the Wareham Crossing shopping mall, located at 2421 Cranberry Highway. Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, with the new store projected to open in late spring 2027.

The upcoming store will offer Ross’s familiar selection of brand-name and designer apparel, accessories, footwear, toys, and home goods, typically priced 20% to 60% below traditional department store prices. Founded in 1950, the company adopted its current Ross Dress for Less off-price format in 1982 and has since grown into the largest off-price retail chain in the United States, with nearly 2,000 stores across 44 states, Washington, D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico.

The expansion comes as Ross continues making its way up the East Coast, with the retailer opening new stores in Connecticut and New York over the past year. The Wareham location is part of a larger push into Massachusetts.

Although Ross currently has no open locations in the state, that’s set to change this fall, with stores planned for Danvers and West Springfield. A Chicopee location is also expected to open in March 2027, a company representative recently told What Now Boston, while additional Massachusetts locations are also reportedly being eyed.

When the new store opens, Ross Dress for Less will join an already bustling lineup of retailers at Wareham Crossing, including HomeGoods, J.Crew Factory, LOFT, Michaels, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Talbots, and Ulta Beauty.
