A landmark family-owned restaurant in West Medford is preparing to shut down. Paul Revere Restaurant will serve its final dinner on Sunday, August 30. Due to health issues, the restaurant’s owner decided to retire and close the restaurant permanently.

Paul Revere Restaurant Bids Farewell

Beloved breakfast and lunch destination Paul Revere Restaurant is shuttering its operations. Located at 447 High Street in Medford, the restaurant will close after 26 years in business.

The restaurant is known for its cozy, nostalgic atmosphere. The menu offers American comfort food and classic breakfast options, including French toast, eggs Benedict, and pancakes.

Additionally, Paul Revere became an attraction because of its historic location in the city. The restaurant is located near the West Medford Commuter Rail Station on the MBTA Lowell Line, according to Hoodline. The restaurant was established in 2000 and has been a staple since then.

Through an Instagram post, the restaurant team announced the news of its closure. In the post, the team wrote, “For many years, this restaurant has been more than a business; it has been a community and a family.”

Over the years, the restaurant became a gathering place for birthdays, anniversaries, first dates, and other special occasions. The post thanked the community, customers, employees, and vendors for their constant support.

Reason Behind the Closure

According to the closure announcement, the owners of the restaurant are going through “an unexpected, serious medical hardship.” As a result, the owners have decided to retire because they can no longer sustain the restaurant’s operations.

“After careful consideration with our family and medical team, we must prioritize our health and prioritize what is best for our family, and unfortunately right now that means stepping away from daily operations,” stated the team.

For the time being, the restaurant team encouraged the community to visit the restaurant before its permanent closure.
