A new destination for bargain hunters is coming to the North Shore.
According to a recent Facebook post from local realtor Sidney O’Brien, Ross Dress for Less is planning to open a new location at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, taking over the roughly 24,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Off Broadway Shoes at 100 Independence Way.
Slated to open later this year, the new store will mark Ross’ first Massachusetts location as the discount retailer continues expanding throughout the Northeast. The California-based brand has been steadily making its way up the East Coast, with new stores opening in Connecticut and New York over the past year. The company is also planning to open Massachusetts outposts in West Springfield and Chicopee, adding to a national footprint of nearly 2,000 locations.
Ross traces its roots to 1950 and today operates as the largest off-price retail chain in the United States. Each store offers a variety of brand-name and designer apparel, accessories, footwear, toys, and home goods at typically 20% to 60% less than department-store prices. Like fellow off-price retailers TJ Maxx and Marshalls, Ross takes a relatively no-frills approach, using a warehouse-inspired layout and pared-back displays to help keep operating costs down.
According to a recent Instagram update from @thatprettyfind, the upcoming North Shore outpost is expected to debut toward the end of 2026. The retailer is already hiring for a retail associate to join the new store.
When it opens, Ross Dress for Less will add another off-price shopping option to Liberty Tree Mall, joining an existing lineup that includes Kohl’s, Marshalls, Michaels, and Nordstrom Rack.
What Now Boston has reached out to Ross representatives for additional details and will share more information as it becomes available.
