A local hairstylist is gearing up to bring her salon concept to the North Shore.

MANE Salon Studio, founded by hairstylist and salon owner Arielle Moynihan, is expanding with a second as-yet-undisclosed location in Salisbury this fall. Moynihan will take over an established local salon space on September 1, 2026, with plans to renovate and reopen the space as a fresh, modern salon under her brand.

The expansion marks an exciting new chapter for Moynihan, who has spent more than 17 years behind the chair and previously owned and operated a boutique salon in Medford. After helping grow that business for five years, she sold her ownership interest earlier this year to pursue her own vision for a more intentional, personalized salon experience.

Today, Moynihan operates MANE Salon Studio, a private luxury salon in Medford, where she continues to serve her existing clientele. That location will remain open as she begins splitting her time between Medford and the Salisbury/Newburyport area.

Moynihan’s career began with training at some of Boston’s top salons, and she has continued her education through respected industry educators and leading professional brands. At MANE, she specializes in lived-in color, dimensional brunettes, blonding, gray blending, custom foil work, balayage, precision cuts, and Bellami Master Certified extensions.

Her approach is centered around creating personalized, low-maintenance hair that looks beautiful not just when clients leave the salon, but weeks later as it grows out. Thorough consultations, healthy hair, premium products, and long-term relationships with clients are all part of her salon philosophy.

For Moynihan, the Salisbury expansion is about more than adding another location to the MANE name. She hopes to create a warm, modern space where clients can relax, enjoy a little pampering, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves, while also building a supportive environment where beauty professionals can establish and grow successful careers.

“This project is especially meaningful to me because it’s more than just opening another salon; it’s about reimagining a space that’s been part of the community while creating a warm, modern experience where clients feel genuinely cared for,” Moynihan told What Now Boston. “After building MANE Salon Studio in Medford, I’m so excited to bring that same personalized approach to Salisbury and the Greater Newburyport area.”

As she prepares for the opening, Moynihan is looking to grow a team of beauty professionals, including full- and part-time hairstylists, booth-rental and commission stylists, estheticians, lash artists, makeup artists, spray tan artists, and beauty professionals interested in private room rentals. Those hoping to book a chair or join the team at MANE’s new Salisbury location are encouraged to reach out to [email protected].

While an official opening date has not yet been announced, Moynihan expects renovations to be underway by September or October, at which point she hopes to have a clearer timeline for the debut.
