- Where: 10501 MacCorkle Avenue, Marmet, WV 25315
The inspection report of Gino’s Pizza at Marmet #10 revealed issues with its cleanliness and operational staff. No one at the pizza parlor possessed a valid food safety certification.
As a corrective measure, the inspectors suggested that someone on the staff take the food safety test and receive a certification at the earliest opportunity within the next 30 days. The inspector will be back on the premises to check this.
The inspection also noted visibly dirty equipment, such as the mixer and the area above the pizza oven. These areas, as well as all the equipment, had to be cleaned appropriately.
The report mentioned that both prep coolers were missing thermometers. The staff was asked to install thermometers inside the prep coolers in an area visible to the staff so they could track temperature readings.
Inspecting officials also found that staff drinks had been left without a lid or straw near the food prep area and the clean equipment.
Employees were instructed to have these items removed and to dispose of them away from areas where food, clean items, and equipment are prepared or stored. Furthermore, they were advised to use straws and lids for all drinks.

Inspections at the Qdoba Mexican Grill #720 revealed fewer health code violations. The report mentioned that an employee was observed working in the kitchen without a beard restraint or cover. This could result in food contamination. Employees working near food were required to wear appropriate hair coverings such as hats, beard restraints, and hair nets.
The floors were found to be visibly dirty and in need of thorough cleaning, according to the inspection report. As a corrective measure, the staff at Qdoba Mexican Grill #720 were asked to clean the floors often and keep them appropriately sanitized.
What Happens Next?
While the violations were not major, both establishments will undergo a second round of follow-up inspections to ensure that they are fit to remain operational. The inspector will visit Gino’s Pizza of Marmet #10 within 30 days to make sure that they have addressed their food safety certification issue.
Qdoba Mexican Grill #720 will also have a follow-up inspection on May 6 to verify if the issues outlined in the report have been fixed.
