“When we moved to Saugatuck, we realized that it was missing a great steakhouse,” says the website of Michigan-based steakhouse Bowdie’s Chophouse. “We loved our new home, and adjusted well to the coastal small-town life, but it was something we missed too. We wanted to bring that great steakhouse to West Michigan. Bowdie’s is our contribution to our new home.”
The brand has gone on to make that contribution in locales around the country. It currently operates five locations, including steakhouses in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Zionsville, Indiana.
Next, Bowdie’s plans to open its sixth steakhouse in Savannah’s Eastern Wharf, at 301 Passage Way.
“From escargot to crabcakes to seared pork belly, there’s something to whet your appetite,” says the Bowdie’s website. “Then, for those seeking something a little on the lighter side, a selection of soup and salads as well as lighter entrees like salmon or a roasted half chicken are available. But, for the true essence of Bowdie’s Chophouse, you’ve got to experience the wonder that is their steak.”
The Savannah steakhouse is working toward an opening in Q4 2026.
“The Savannah location will offer an intimate setting with just under 100 seats, including a mezzanine for private dining that overlooks the main dining room,” says coverage by HelloSavGA.com. “Bowdie’s will also introduce a wine locker program, allowing frequent diners to purchase bottles at a discount and store them on-site for future visits. It’s a perk that’s already popular at their other locations and should be a hit for Savannah’s wine crowd.”
